Dave Morgan Returns as Simulmedia CEO
(New York)- Company that Pioneered Advanced TV Ads Starting 16 Years Ago, Shifts Back to “Start-up Mode” to Attack Enormous, Fast-Growing CTV Ad Market
It’s “Back to the Future” at Simulmedia as company founder, Executive Chairman and long-time adtech entrepreneur Dave Morgan returns to the CEO role, replacing long-time company COO Jon Werther who assumed the CEO role at the end of 2023.
“The market opportunity in Connected TV (CTV) Advertising is enormous and it’s coming at us fast. Winning in this market will require that everyone in Simulmedia think, move, act and react at start-up speed,” said Morgan. “Leading teams in that mode is my superpower and I’m excited to return to the helm and help us win this enormous, fast-growing market, one that we expect to be bigger than search and social in ad spend over the next ten years.”
Simulmedia was founded on October 7, 2008 — exactly 16 years ago today – on the idea that you could combine the best TV advertising and digitally-driven direct marketing, which led to its pioneering work in creating the data-driven linear TV advertising market. Its patented TV+ platform is used by more than 100 advertisers and agencies to help them quickly and efficiently reach viewers scattered across broadcast, cable, satellite television and connected TV at guaranteed scale without wasteful duplication.
“The promise of the emerging CTV ad market is not only why we founded Simulmedia, but it’s why I got into digital advertising more than 30 years ago,” Morgan added. “This market will explode. With AI-driven video ads now available to businesses of all sizes at a very low cost, we expect that the tens of thousands of small and medium sized businesses that are already buying CTV ads will quickly grow into the hundreds of thousands and then millions over the next few years.”
“Jon Werther did an amazing job as the company’s COO and CEO," said Morgan. “He helped us focus and streamline the company and turned Simulmedia back to me as a profitable, debt-free company with very strong businesses in both cross-channel linear and streaming TV ad buying and ad-supported video gaming in our PlayerWON unit – and well positioned to attack the CTV ad market with a new product under development that we expect to release before Thanksgiving.”
